After the fellas pay a $15...
After the fellas pay a $15 entry fee and the ladies get in for free (on account of the probability of them getting bored staring at body parts they could see in the mirror at home), you climb up some stairs to The Show Room where the main stage is. It had been five years since I was last at Showgirls, and the look of the place has not changed one bit in all that time (though to be fair, I don’t think the decor is the venue’s main focus). Rock and rap songs from the late ‘90s and early ‘00s boom to get men in a party mood, from the likes of Limp Bizkit, Rage Against The Machine, and Puff Daddy to name put a few. Interestingly, the Aerosmith ballad ‘I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing’ played during one of the fantasy dances when the naked dancer was washing herself with a sponge, making it more funny than erotic.
There are usually three strippers on the stage at a time, with all the other strippers going around chatting men up to con them into a $50 lap dance. There are also TVs around advertising $20 massages (though I think the sleazoids will be disappointed if they don’t get a massage “down thereâ€), and also loops a montage of porno footage of girls touching either themselves or other chicks. The tinted booths nearby are where the lap dances happen, though you can see everything that happens in there anyway, so the term “private dance†is bull. Needless to say, subtlety does not exist at Showgirls.
If you’re a red blooded male, you obviously will be paying attention to the ladies more than willing to take their clothes off for your amusement. The girls are very flexible around the poles and go beyond being suggestive. However, they do tend to go a little over the top by climbing all the way up the pole, making it look like they are doing chin ups at the gym rather than trying to arouse the fellas.
