I was down in London for...

I was down in London for the weekend but I didn't stay in my usual area so my favourites, Browns and The White Horse, were not as convenient as usual and I looked for something else. This place turned out to be quite close to where I was staying.

Since there were no reviews here, I looked around and found some reviews on beer sites. They didn't like it, it doesn't server "real ale". It was amusing to read these reviews. Some were morally outraged, or claimed it at least. Others feigned a lack of interest. Just one admitted interest in the show. They uniformly disliked the beer and they were right. Worse than that, it was served in plastic beakers which is not a good sign. Anyway, you probably haven't come here to read about the beer.

The layout was slightly unusual. A central bar which you could walk completely around. The surrounding area was partitioned so there was a drinking area with no show (you don't have the pay the £1 a girl if you are in this area). The show area was very seedy. There was one stool but since there was one customer (me) that was not a problem. One other customer came for one show and a group of 3 arrived as I was leaving.
