My friends and I showed up...

My friends and I showed up for a small bachelor party after midnight on Saturday night. Cover was $5 Canadian or $6 American. The exchange rate was about $0.99 Canadian for $1 American the day I went, so the US dollar was worth just a hair less than a Canadian dollar. In general I think they charged an extra dollar for everything if you were paying with US cash, although I think they were still taking $20 US for a lap dance. There was a 1-drink minimum and American beers were $7.50 and others were $8.50 (now I don’t recall if those were Canadian or US prices). Most of the customers were men, naturally, but there were a handful of female customers as well.

Customers would lie on their backs on the edge of the stage with some cash in their mouths and the dancer on stage would come hover over them on all fours, sometimes straddling his face almost in a 69 position (probably depending on the amount of tip), then rub her breasts on his face as she took the money. I guess this is common in Canada but I’ve never seen it in the US, which is unfortunate because I think it’s a good custom. Most customers would wait until the dancer’s third song on stage to make that tip, when she was fully nude. I’m not sure what kind of tip is customary for this treatment. When I came here around 2002ish, I saw a bunch of people doing it with coins, presumably a loonie or a toonie. This time everyone I saw was using bills but I’m not sure if they were Canadian bills ($5 is the smallest they have) or American 1’s (and if so, how many?). My friends and I tipped a couple of times with a Canadian 5 and once the DJ gave a remark of approval, something like “now these guys know how to tip - with a 5”.

Most of the dancers were Caucasian and I remember seeing one black girl. I was impressed with the quality of the girls, although it probably depends on when you go. Saturday night is one of the best times.
