Yeesh. I was here a couple of years ago and wrote up a pretty negative review. I guess I must be too dumb not to come back. I was in Hartford and thought, what the hell? For those who don't know the area, the Gold Club is in a former waste ground called "North Meadows" -- now a wasteland of auto dealerships and roads that lead nowhere. The club is on one of these. I dare you to find it on the first attempt. It abuts a porn shop with some fairly iffy people hanging around it, but the shop and lot seemed crowded.

I started in the topless side of the club. Not much happening ... a handful of reluctantly seminude women hustling dollars for almost no dance. I was assured that the action was on the all nude but no booze side. So I went over, getting my wallet lightened by $15.00 for the privilege. That was the last light I saw. "After Dark" emphasizes darkness, primarily to disguise the plus sizes of some of the talent. I auditioned a few dancers for $2.00 tips, but met no one I really wanted to get a better dance from. The one really hot under-30 girl who came over reeked of tobacco. Eventually I finished my "drink" ... a warm, flat diet coke that they must have charged extra for removing the bubble in advance ... and left. I'll not return.
