Desiree's Preferred Gentleman's Club is an excellent place for personal entertainment in San Angelo. If you come in to enjoy yourself and stay out of trouble, you will find the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The inside of the club is a bit dark, as is to be expected. There are two stages- One main stage, runway-style, on the far side of the establishment, and one "bar stage", island-style, in close proximity to the bar. The bar stage only seems to be in use when there's a good crowd, which was not the case on my latest visit. There are several pool tables available within view of the stages with games at a dollar each. The wait staff will ensure that you're never wanting for a drink, though they tend not to be pushy about it. There is a raised floor area with half-walls labelled "VIP ROOM" for lap dances. It has little privacy and one must keep their hands to themselves, though the entertainers do not skimp on one-way contact. If you partake in smoking, there is a fenced-in patio available for such activities. The entertainers cannot join you on the smoking patio, as I've discovered, for reasons of liability. As for the restrooms, they are not top-notch, but if you're visiting a strip club for the quality of the restrooms, you and I have differing priorities.

The entertainers that I've encountered come from a variety of backgrounds, and while not all of them are physically appealing to me, I have not seen one that would make for horrible arm candy. If you elect to visit, it is likely that you will see at least one entertainer that appeals to you. Most of the young ladies display excellent pole work, and I've not seen one who didn't show appreciation for a tip. Whether it be club policy or their own preference, the entertainers do not approach customers to sell dances. I've had a few conversations with the young ladies and not once been given a sales pitch, which I find surprising and somewhat refreshing. A friend of mine even played a game of pool with an entertainer during a slow period, and it was obvious that she let him have the game.

Desiree's is the only strip club in San Angelo, but it doesn't operate like an establishment with no competition. If you're looking for a few drinks, some good music, attractive women, and perhaps a game of pool in a relaxed environment, this is a great place to find it. If you're looking for "extras" or a date, you'd likely have better luck in a traditional bar.
