Centerfolds is a pretty place. I went there on a Sunday, and there were plenty of women dancing. All but a couple were young and pretty, and the others fit some men’s fetishes. About 90% of the ladies were White. The place is arranged around one long stage where two dancers work at the same time. It’s equipped with a swing and a ceiling spinner. The décor makes the place look like a larger version of the Hi-Liter Lounge. For one thing, it has the same wrap-around lounge chairs with those detestable wheels. They’re comfortable enough, but the arms limit what a dancer can do, and the wheels make it possible for her to literally take you for a ride unless your chair is backed up to a wall during a ten buck lap dance. The solution, suggested by every dancer, is to go to the VIP room. A $20 buy-in gets you behind the mirrored glass and lets you return there for the rest of your visit. Dances on the VIP couches are $20. Maybe next time. I didn’t check out the beer list, but the mixed drink prices have the sort of specials that are typical of almost all Phoenix clubs. The music is the usual mix but, unusually, the songs play out to full length. Mileage was a little above Phoenix average. Overall, Centerfolds offers a gentlemen’s club experience in one of the nicest facilities in Phoenix. Although they push the VIP room, they don’t try to nick you for every little thing. I’m rating it equal to (although it’s quite different from) my favorite club.
