One of the most memorable features...

One of the most memorable features of this hole in the wall is the midget bouncer who tries to act tough. More on him later though. Lol. So the story goes, I'm a full-time graduate student here at Howard University. I was so burned out and drained on Friday night. So I decided to check out a club I had never been too before. I checked out some reviews for Irving’s on TUSCL and got mixed results. So I decided to see for myself.

I arrived at Irving’s around 11pm. The address is 5915 Athena Street. It is five minutes away from Addison Road Metro Station. As I approach the front entrance, I notice this small figure lurking around. I then realize it’s a midget and he is one of the bouncers. I thought to myself, “Major FAIL!” Lol. He reminded me of a wanna-be Lord Of The Rings: RELOADED. Not intimidating at all. LOL! He had an attitude with one of the other customers trying to get in too. Almost as if he were poking his chest out to demonstrate his toughness. Not intimidating whatsoever. Sad.

The cover is $20 at the door. The club is indeed small. It is certainly a hole in the wall. The actual stage dance polls are actually busted water pipes with duct tape holding them together. The bathroom is unisex and pretty clean for club standards though. It’s very dim in there though. The music is on point but I did notice that Rick Ross and Maybach Music tends to be the main music played with sporadic others like Lil Wayne or T.I.
