this club gets and 8 for what it is -- unabashedly sleazy. It makes no pretenses, unlike the club across the alley, about being a 'gentlemen's club.' It is the last remaining piece of the once glorious combat zone. Its days are probably numbered as the Boston Redevelopment Authority has already begun the process to taking and razing the building its in. If you go there before it is torndown, what you will find is that you are incessantly hounded by women there (ranging from art students to junkies) to buy them drinks at $20/each (but also pay for drinks upfront as if you run a tab they may charge $30 - $50 each). When it comes to buying some drunk junkie a drink, you have 3 options to chose from -- 1) keep buying them drinks from the bar (which will surely mark you as pigeon); 2) refuse and tell them to beg off (which will create other problems depending on how you handle yourself); or 3) pick a side table and sitdown with the one of your choice and buy her a few drinks. Unlike the place across the street, you may find that #3 can actually lead somewhere. But it definitely cost you to find out. Unless you're willing to drop $100 or so, don't bother with #3. But if you want to see what stripclubs were like before they went corporate, this is a place worth checking out. It also has a good lunch crowd if you're in the area.
