I hit up Club Rio on...

I hit up Club Rio on a Wednesday evening. The club is off of 38th Street, a ways back from the street. I actually drove by twice and did not see it. Turn where you see the Red Lobster. The club is adjacent to a large abandoned store and parking lot. The club is basically one large room, very open and generic. There are three stages; the one with a pole was in use, while the two “tabletop” stages were not in service. The cover, a drink, and tip to the waitress had me out $14 before I even sat down in a club that was mostly empty and not very animated. Food is offered here, and it seems there is a $5 special offered on different meals throughout the week. There is a small kitchen located back by the washrooms. The restroom was kind of beat up and had some graffiti. You would not want to drop a deuce here as the shitters had no doors for privacy. On your way in/out, you’ll notice there is a claw machine with sex toys and assorted junk for a dollar a drop. The music was rock and pop. There was zero thug factor.

The dancer to customer ratio was about 1:1. Most dancers just stuck by the same guy the whole time, presumably their regulars. I was approached by only one dancer the whole time I was there. All dancers seemed to be about thirty and over. Most were white and a little thicker too. Not BBW or fat, but more like curvy MILF. Some were diamonds in the rough, while others like Sheila and Joey were downright dogs. The token black girl was very manly. The two best-looking girls in my opinion were the sexy waitresses. There was not a whole lot of money changing hands here: sparse tipping at the stage, no lap dances were done, and only one guy opted for a VIP session during my visit. The ladies seemed to be content to just sit and talk with their regular all night. Lap dances take place in the back of the club on benches that are visible to everyone. Lap dances cost $20. The VIP was $150 for a half hour in a dark room with a sliding door, very private if no other couples come in. I’d imagine with the right girl a good time could be had in there. I might give this place another shot, but I don’t think I’ll be back any time soon.
