I stopped into Rick’s on a Wednesday evening. The club is located in a lower class area of Indianapolis, but it didn’t seem dangerous like Detroit or East St. Louis. It is right off of Lafayette Road. The club has a nice upscale interior, possibly the best setting in Indy based on my Circle City club adventures. Lots of small tables with roller chairs filled the room. To the right is an elevated area with more tables and seating taking up a good chunk of the club. There are three stages. The main stage is in the back of the building. Two smaller stages are in the seating area but were not being used; all stages had a pole. Admission was free with an ad from the Nuvo. The Nuvo can be found at the Lafayette Square Mall. A domestic bottle was $5.25, and no it was not even a sixteen ounce aluminum one. I tried some dinner here and it was fairly decent and under $10. Here is the breakdown on the VIP: $160 for a half hour, $300 for a full hour. These prices beat Dancer’s Show Club, but I got the impression nothing more than a solid grind with touching could happen at this NASDAQ-listed chain club. Lap dances were $20 apiece, but you had to buy a $10 wristband from the club in order to buy lappers. None of the eight or so customers bought the wristband when I visited. Some guys were even too cheap to stage tip. There was some thug factor, but that is no surprise for this part of town. The music at the club was top 40 pop, entailing some hip hop and rock.
For a place like Rick’s that tries to bill itself as the crème-de-la-crème, the dancers were a big disappointment. There were only four on duty at 8pm and three of them looked older than 30. I really had no interest in a MILF encounter with Aurora, Kelly, or Lili. Claire was the best looking of the lot, an 8 in her early twenties. I thought I might want to get some action in the back with her, but not after talking to her. She was very disconnected constantly checking her smartphone and had little to say other than push the VIP. She lost my business at that point, as I figured her private routine would be just as disconnected. The club seemed very dark, making the ladies look better a distance, but closer inspection dropped their looks on a 10-point scale. Perhaps I just hit Rick’s on a bad night, but I thought this place was overrated and probably won’t give it another go any time soon.
