A long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, this establishment had the mellifluous name of the Mile High Saloon. After a few sad years marked with visits from the Glendale Police (Glendale is a separated part of Arapahoe County totally surrounded by the city of Denver) and various honey traps, Mile High fell into the clutches of the Evil Empire. Despite its VCG ownership, the place still looks classy, but not as much as back in the great old days when the entrance of a stripper down that great stairway brought back fantasies of the Ziegfeld Follies. Still a fine looking place with beautiful dancers and even more spectacular cocktail waitresses. But it lacks a certain elan from the 1990s, and has a certain corporate sameness with the other clubs in the VCG chain. Still worth the visit...still, watch out for cops and the bright competition from Shotgun Willie's a few blocks away.
