haven't written about adelita/tj in a while. made a multi-day trip to tj in february. i'm pretty comfortable in tj now, so i don't bother staying in sd anymore (i still did fly into sd). stayed at a hotel near plaza rio which seemed relatively nice and safe/secure. costs about 10 bucks each way for a taxi to zona norte. was intending to spend most of my time at hong kong (my usual preference), but for whatever reason, i wasn't feeling it there this visit. so i spent a decent amount of time at adelita. pretty much the same a before except they've remodeled the back area by the main bar into some "vip" area. wasn't sure what the difference was (additional cost? pricer drinks?) and found out there is no difference. it's got some fancier lighting, a water fountain thingie, and some nicer seating. not sure if it's open all the time or just on occasion. i enjoyed my visits this trip. nice and laid back, no pressure from the waiters to keep ordering drinks. it's definitely cheaper to have drinks with the ladies here versus hk. i feel the prices at hk have been steadily increasing. also noted that the exchange rate has increased to 12 peso per dollar (was 11 - 1 for quite some time). i found that most of the ladies here speak english fairly well, so communication wasn't a problem. was able to find some ladies to my liking (i prefer slim, petite latinas), and had some good sessions with them (no rush-jobs, very accomodating). it's very nice that the prices here are maxed out at $60/half hour, so you don't have to expect to haggle. hotel still $13/half hour, and they were never obnoxious (ie banging on the door at 29 minutes). overall, a nice trip as usual. will be back.
