I went to Beavers on a Thursday night. The club had been closed for a while and just reopened for business five days prior from what I was told. The club is located out by a grain elevator off of 3rd Avenue, way east of town by the airport. It is about 3/8 of a mile north of I-40. To get exposure on the interstate, they have a tall pole with a beaver on top of it that could be seen from two miles away; it is kind of cool. This club is the only nude club in Amarillo. Management thinks they can demand high prices for this reason. Cover is $10 every night, and lap dances are $35. The $35 per song may work in New York or Los Angeles, but not in Amarillo. Sure enough, not a single person bought a lap dance in the ninety or so minutes I was in the establishment. The club is BYOB; this is nice because you end up paying less for alcohol and do not have to deal with any waitresses. The back of the club has snacks for sale like candy and Girl Scout cookies, which was kind of creepy.

The inside is very dark. The main stage was huge. It had poles on its left and right flanks. The stage could easily accommodate three or more dancers at once. I believe there were two smaller tabletop side stages in the club as well. On the far end of the club from where you enter are the lap dance booths. Privacy is minimal. There are silk curtains that block the doorways, but the silhouette of what is going on inside is visible to the whole club. All of the music played is hip hop and R&B. Like all Amarillo clubs, there are pool tables.

The quality of girls ranged from 1-7. There were eleven on duty: six black, three white, and two Latinas. Probably the best of the lot were a pair of skinnier black girls and a young Hispanic dancer named Kiera. The other Latina was pregnant and would not remove her shirt. The rest were either too chubby for me or too old for me. Overall, I was not impressed. Some of the dancers approached me and were snide when I refused a $35 lap dance. One dancer offered me OTC, but that is not my cup of tea.
