I've been to the Showcase many times. I usually stop by when I'm in the DC area. The club is as nondescript as can be, hidden on a side street in an industrial area. You could easily drive past without noticing if you don't know where it is. I suppose that's because it's a membership club ($15 last time). I treat it like a cover charge, since I won't carry a card around. The club is convenient to I95 just north of the beltway split. Although it's only a couple of miles from the University of Maryland campus, I don't think I've ever seen any college boys there. It's definitely a working-man's place.

The club itself is small with a tiny stage, some couches fronting the stage, and maybe twenty cafe tables. There is a small bar to the right of the stage, and a lap dance area to the left that can accomdate about five or six dances. There's also a private VIP area behind the bar. That's where I spent most of my visit this time. The girls are a mixed bag -- 5-7 mostly with a few 8s thrown in. What they lack in pure looks, they usually make up for in attitude, however. Typically, a girl will sit on your lap and chat for a few minutes before asking for a dance. Since it's a BYOB club, they don't usually hustle for drinks (although I've bought a few Red Bulls). Most take "no" for an answer OK, so there isn't a lot of pressure.

The dances are $20 for a bikini dance, or $30 for topless in the public area. The dances are full-contact and hands-on, except for the crotch. As always, your mileage will vary from girl to girl, but in general, they tend to be very enjoyable. The best service is in the VIP area, though, which costs $20 to go back, and each song is $30 (topless, at least). Although the eye-in-the-sky keeps things legal, with some girls the added privacy definitely helps.
