This is definitely not one of LA's better clubs. The location is charmingly gritty, but the club itself is seriously showing some age. The dancers, mostly Asian and Latina, are initially friendly and hot, but get too pushy once you go back for dances.

The club billed "4 for 1" dance specials every hour, which I know is never as good a value as it sounds like, but at the Playpen it was a complete rip off. The DJ announced the next "song" every 20 seconds or so without even changing the music. The dances were very low mileage both on and off special.

The lap dance area is brightly lit and not very private when compared to other LA clubs like Skin and The Body Shop. On the plus side, drinks weren't gouge-you expensive and it has a nice main stage. Hang out with a group and tip the girls on stage, but don't waste your money on lap dances.
