While Desire has never been my club as I don't tend to like the atmosphere of a bunch of guys sitting around the bar and the girls mostly spending time with regulars, I do tend to stop in now and again as they used to have some of the prettiest girls in Providence. Well...times certainly have changed, at least on this visit. It used to be at least 1/2 of the girls were college aged and in general very good looking - slim and attractive, just my type. WEll...this time, the girls were mostly closer to 30 and a little heavier and certainly no stunners in the crowd. Again, you walk in and you feel like they moved Cheers to a strip bar. Two bars surrounded by guys drinking and a few girls chatting with them. There were a few girls mingling but this is consistently a club where if you want a girl, you need to find her, not the other way around. I did speak to a few girls about the menu and got very basic options - no extras offered, which is not what I have seen in the past. The other reason I don't love this club is that they don't have a good lap dance area - it is wide open and based on past experience, most of the dancers don't allow much contact (hey, we are in public, that is for the booths!!). After a couple of sets, I left and as it was still early, I thought I would stop by one last club. And...given that it was the closest club, I went to Cheaters. Continue reading that review there.
