After 25 years in the area, I finally made the pilgrimage to Ballpark. Its fame preceeds it and contrary to the other reviews, I was actually satisfied with the experience.

It was dark inside, and I made the mistake of coming in from a sunny day outside. It took me about a minute before I could focus my eyes. I found an open spot on the ca. 20-seat bar around the stage and saw on the board that 4 dancers were working (3 white, 1 black). To my surprise, a very friendly girl came over right away and gave me a big hug even though I told her I wasn't a regular. In fact, I noticed all of the girls were very friendly with all of the customers. I also noticed that the couch area was *very* dark even though it was semi-private. Everyone minds their own business.

After an expensive $5 soft drink and a few girls passing by for tips, the initial friendly girl asked if I wanted a dance and I accepted. There was another dance going on at the other end of the couch room, and I think extras are "de rigueur" here. My lap dance was satisfying and I appreciated the no-BS approach. If you are uncomfortable with the scene at these clubs, then perhaps you should stick to Bingo.
