Joy of Austin is known as one of the dives in Austin. IMHO, it's not that bad. The club could seriously need a new look, but the decorating of the club isn't what you go there for. The new VIP section is supposed to open sometime in the near future, but the "fire marshal" keeps finding flaws in it. Covers cheap and the management hands out free passes like they are candy. Get there between 7-9 and drinks are good priced. $2 beer/wells. $10 dances 7-9. Same dances you will get after nine, jut the songs are a little shorter. The selection of girls defenitly gets better after 9. Management is getting a little pickier about what girls they will let work, but not too picky. Girls are not as plastic as at some other clubs. More natural, the club is very laid back. Comfortable seating. Defenitly are some high mileage girls there, but they will let you know if they are or not. No sense in "testing the waters" JTFO. Usually ends up in the girl getting aggressive and taking all of your money to keep her mouth shut and let you stay in the club. There is a group of good girls, the ones that give good dances without giving a BJ or any touching of the kitty. The less you touch them they better the dance you get. Management is present but sometimes looks the other way. Always a good selection of girls for EVERY taste. Watch out for the food though, the bathrooms are equipped for the after effecte of the $.99 steak and fries.
