I thought I had seen all...
I thought I had seen all there was to see in Tucson when it came to the clubs... One night I heard from a friend of mine that November had changed formats and had become a topless bar. I decided to give it a chance and head down to check it out. I found a really rewarding, family owned club with a very friendly atmosphere.
The first thing I noticed upon entering the bar was how no one stopped me to ask me for a cover charge. I was asked for ID and told about a 2 drink minimum at the door, but that was it. There were a couple of girls dancing that night, but with the place being quite a bit smaller than most clubs, probably 100 seats in the entire bar, including at the bar and in booths, this seemed OK. Turns out, there's never a cover. This is a major plus, and quite refreshing.
The bartender was a very nice guy, and always had something humorous to say. The layout of the place is a little unusual for a topless bar, but it work quite well. As you walk in the door, there is a pool table on the left, then the bar comes out from the left side and wraps around like a horseshoe. Beyond the bar are the tables, with the booths along the right wall. In the middle of the tables stands the stage. The stage is quite small, but it's definitely functional, and it's only about a foot off of the ground.
