I had the opportunity for a rare Saturday night out. I wanted to explore new places and see what some more familiar ones were like outside of my usual late afternoon or very early evening hours. First I checked out the Playpen, which wasn't even worth its own review. When I walked in there was one customer, three bored dancers and not even the jukebox was awake. I stayed long enough to get one dance, just to be polite, then bailed out.

The next stop was Lusty Adventures. I was thinking about a grand tour of Akron dives, once I'd answered my questions about the Playpen, but I walked into Lusty at about 9 p.m. and didn't leave until it was time to go home -- at 1:30 a.m.

Now I'm trying to figure out how I can arrange some more Saturday nights off. If I can, I know right where I'll be.

Yes, there were some chubsters, oldsters and just plain over-the-hill skanks in attendance, as always. That was no surprise in a club that is obviously comfortable setting a low bar for physical beauty. But also on hand were two solid 8's and a 9 who were in their early 20s and every bit as friendly as the bar allows its dancers to be. I didn't do any VIPs. I didn't need to. Instead, I got one great dance after another at the bar, enjoyed some fun conversation and managed to spend all of those hours there without spending this week's lunch money.

For a really ... uplifting ... evening, thanks to Rachelle, Melina, Whitney and Star. I'm normally pretty bad with names, but I remember every one of theirs.
