New Year's/Sugar Bowl weekend in NOLA...
New Year's/Sugar Bowl weekend in NOLA means the clubs up their game, even the second tier ones. In the case of Temptations, having studied the TUSCL reviews resulted in lowered expectations that in turn meant little to no disappointment. Went twice, late on a peak night and early on an off-peak, to draw contrast. Of course, I made sure I had a free pass in my hand, so as to cut losses if I were to have to turn around immediately upon looking in.
Space is modest in dimensions but as mentioned, decorated with pretensions of fanciness. Not a scary environment at all, on the peak night I was there they had a decent crowd, older and younger, and both times there was a notable proportion of female patrons, who got a LOT of up close appreciation from the performers (to be honest they were tipping better than the dudes). The off-night was much much slower. One can imagine that in the full-on slow season the performers would be whatever was left after the Flynt clubs had their pick (and no way to even dream of matching PH or Rick's) but in a relatively high week like this one they weren't all as terrible as some reviews put it, either, just very few top-shelf ones. Most of the ones I got approached by were down-to-earth girls who you could be at ease with, mostly from the nearby states. Quite a bit of ink on that night's crew. Spent some time over the two nights with a half dozen ladies including in particular Paige, a Georgia gal who has been at it 8 years and who's fun just to talk and drink and chill with in between dances -- and when it came to the dance part she delivered quite pleasingly; I like even more that she did not do excessive hard upselling like a couple of colleages, as I was doing quite well at the regular level of service.
Lapdances involved heading out the back courtyard into a series of rooms (former slave quarters/stables) each laid out like a den with couches and armchairs around a cofee table (no cubicles/booths). Those can be used as shared space @$40 or as nonshared space @$50; 3-fer offers are available as well. Payment is upfront, tipping may happen at the end. The walk can be a bit exciting since there are irregular steps and a cobblestoned yard, where the ladies are at peril in their heels. Contact/mileage was good in those rooms, as long as you kept your hands off the thong zone, even with some LFK thrown in by more than one of the girls. Did not intend to go for the upstairs VIP to begin with, so no eval of that part of it, though I was advised by a couple of the girls who did try hard upsell of some very interesting possibilities were I in a spendy mood. Did not feel like calling them on it.
