I went to Scarlett’s since it was rated overall the third-best club in Tampa. It was a big disappointment. The club is small and located off 7th Street amongst warehouses and factories, kind of isolated. It is not walking distance from the Ybor bars and clubs. There was a guard watching the parking lot. A $10 dollar cover was assessed to anyone entering. The inside has a large stage in the middle with two poles. Tables and chairs surround it. There are about five caves in the walls that have private dance booths. The booths have a light curtain, which provides some privacy. VIP rooms are down a hallway past the DJ booth. A small “juice bar” with about five stools is in the back of the club. A 10-ounce soda or a bottle of water costs $5. Luckily, after I bought the mandatory drink, I was never asked again to buy another, so drink hustle was nonexistent. The staff was quiet and nonintrusive. Dancers would do three songs: topless after the first, nude after the second. Most guys were tipping just $1. The club felt semi-upscale, but very generic. Music was hip hop and rock.

Most of the dancers were skewed toward the older side, as in older than me. Ethnicities were a solid mix of white, Latino, and black. One black girl had the worst boob job ever: there were footpaths running all the way from the base of her mounds to the areolas, major scars. Quality-wise this place was a big disappointment. The best girl was probably a 7, then there were two 6’s, and the other six were nasty. Every time you buy a dance or set of dances, you must pay the club $10 at the bar. They will then try to get you to buy the stripper a drink. Just give them a firm “No”. They didn’t push the issue. Dances are then $20 apiece or some girls will do three for $50. The contact was two-way except for between the dancer’s legs. The girls put a handkerchief on your lap when you dance since this is a nude joint. There are VIP rooms that run $250 per half hour. The dancer keeps $200 and the house takes $50. I did not try this option as it is too pricey even if you are able to get extras. Someone else can try to figure out what can be had back there. Girls would upsell the VIP room while doing the private dances; it was a mood-killer. Taya was the 7, but she ignored me and seemed to stick to regulars. A fatass reg whispered something to her, and then was sitting in his car for 15 minutes in the parking lot after leaving the club. Was he waiting for Taya to come with him to the no-tell motel? The dancers were not selling VIP’s, getting minimal private dances, and tips were sparse. It would not surprise me if they would be open to OTC action. Watch out for a ROB named Demi. She will try and say one song was two songs. Thug factor was forecasted at 50%. This club also had lots of creepy guys sitting in corners by themselves, not spending any money.

Every hour there will be a dance special. All dancers get up on stage, then they come down and work the room trying to sell the dance special. Usually it will be a club-mandated three dances for $50. Other times it is a prize dance. If they are giving away porn DVD’s, avoid them like the plague. They are crappy compilations from the 90’s of unknown/ugly starlets that they probably got off of eBay for less than a buck apiece. They put them in a DVD case advertising Scarlett’s that has a smoking hot chick on it to make it look like you might be actually getting a good porn title.
