I went to this club on...
I went to this club on a Friday evening about midnight. It was packed. The crowd was almost exclusively guys in their 20’s and 30’s, except for a few female significant others. This is the closest strip club to downtown Quebec City. I’d recommend knowing French as a good number of locals are poor English speakers (this is not Montreal), but an anglophone should be able to get by. The Quebecois are a proud people, so if you must speak English, open by speaking French, then ask if you can talk in English to them. I believe cover was $7. After paying, you wait behind a rope where a bouncer will escort you to a spot to sit. You are expected to tip the bouncer. I tipped $2 after being placed at a seat by the stage and he seemed to be okay with that. You’ll probably need to tip more for a table. Unlike American strip clubs, there is no stage tipping here (possibly due to the smallest paper bill in Canada being a $5). From what I gathered, most of the guys just sit and watch the stage show all night, buying overpriced beers along the way. Beers were $7 and I was told they only stock Molson products. Honestly, no Budweiser? At least Coors Light is a Molson product. There is a second floor where there is more seating and a ton of private dance booths that resembled the dressing rooms you might find in a department store.
The dancers were a mixed bag of races and body types. Some were very hot while others were not too appealing. There is one large stage about four feet off the ground with one dancer at a time. The club was running sets of two dancers like this: Dancer A strips topless, Dancer B strips topless, Dancer A strips nude, Dancer B strips nude. Then a new two-set of girls will repeat this pattern. The music was mostly rock and techno, some in French and some in English. Dancers don’t circulate the floor like at American clubs; many would just sit with their friends or regulars. If you want to get dances, you need to approach and ask. I went upstairs with a 9. The dances were $20 and somewhat disappointing. The dances were a tame one-way contact and the dancer spent a lot of time off my lap dancing in front of me. I think there are cameras in the booths based on the way she acted. I might return next time I’m in town as I was only here about 40 minutes and did not get a solid grasp on the place.
