I spent a week in Phoenix...

I spent a week in Phoenix in early December and had an opportunity to revisit my old haunts. This compares my 3 favorite places from years gone by when I lived there. There’s no real place in TUSCL for such a comparison, so I’ll put it on all three clubs.

First was Christie’s on 32nd on a Monday night after MNF. About $10 to get in the door, $8 for a drink, $10 for a floor dance. The place was dead, maybe 5 customers, a few more dancers than that. Dancers were only fair, to be polite. Maybe it was an off night, maybe Christie’s is experiencing hard times (Hey! You can take the train there now! It stops at Washington and 32nd.), or maybe it is just slower times everywhere. I’m afraid the place warrants no stars. Such a shame, because it used to be my favorite when they packed ‘em in and had 75 evening dancers.
