I use to be very high...
I use to be very high on this club, but it has plummeted in my opinion compared to where it was over the past three years. The quality of dancers is down. For the first time I saw 5’s and 6’s working. Whoever is doing the hiring needs to revert to where it was about a year ago. There are still some girls in the 8-10 range but the pool has certainly been diluted and good luck getting the attention from one of these girls as their egos are so high they think they are Aphrodite. There are lots of girls with implants here, approaching 50%. I prefer natural mammaries over goofy looking Barbie dolls. I even saw one girl that looked like she had implants in her ass. She looked to have a slender to average build, then an ass as wide as an axe handle. There was no way it could have been real. It was just too out of proportion with her body. Nobody even wanted to tip her she looked like such as freak. She was white too. I conversed with a few white girls that thought they were black by the way they talked and acted. As for real chocolate, they permit 2-3 ebonies per shift, but this club is predominately ivory with the occasional Hispanic shaker thrown in. Dance prices are crazy. A private dance where you might get contact upstairs is $40. A 20 minute private session is $125. These sessions used to be $100 last time I was here. I think a half hour is $250 and a full hour is $450-$500. Nobody really buys anything other than the $20 floor dances which are one-way contact, but I can get away with more sometimes. The upstairs options are not too popular due to the price and this being probably the “cleanest†club in the FQ. Sometimes the bouncers cut you short too.
Customer service has gone down the toilet too. Here are some examples. 1) There was about one server for about every two tables. Half t time I was in there, I was getting pestered by every single waitress in there looking to get me a drink and her $1-2 tip. One waitress came and took a beer bottle from me that was still a quarter full and asked if I wanted another. I told her, “no,†and she walked away while I told her I r to finish my current beer. After all, domestic beer cost $7.25, imported beer cost $8.25, and a mixed drink was $9.50 and up. For that ripoff, you should at least be able to drink the whole bottle. Management needs to get their heads out of their asses and not have so many vultures on duty. 2) I had to leave to take a phone call from a client. When I returned I was asked to pay the cover again. I told the bouncer I was just inside and why should I pay again. He stated I did not have a stamp so he could not let me reenter. The first time I paid cover I got no stamp because said bouncer was sitting at the bar by the entrance watching ESPN. If the meathead would have been doing his job the first time I came in, I would have not had to pay cover again. 3) I declined a dance from one of the ugliest girls there, a 5 or even lower, as were all the other patrons, and she started shouting at me. She said because I declined her dance she wanted to go kill herself. 4) This is very much becoming a regular-oriented club despite being located in the French Quarter, the tourist trap of the South. I came in here with a lot of money throw around but was ignored much of the time as girls stuck to regulars. As I had a lot of time sitting by myself, I watched what the regulars spent to keep the girls locked down all night: most just bought drinks and an occasional floor dance or two. So they kept girls sitting with them for about 1 drink and 2 dances per hour, which comes to about $50/hour. Lots of guys wearing suits, but they were not really not melting much cheddar. You can tell the economy is even affecting the supposed high-rollers. 5) My throat got sore just sitting in all of the secondhand smoke. This place needs to cycle air better. It was almost unbearable. Many of the current crop of talent are chain smokers.
I will be giving other clubs in the area a shot at redemption and will not return to the Penthouse in the near future. The prices are insanely high and many of the girls and service staff have bad attitudes. The only real positive was the bathroom troll. He is a really nice guy from Haiti, be sure to throw him a buck if you do end up going to a down-trending Penthouse. Clubs in New Orleans are as volatile as the stock market. Hopefully, Penthouse will straighten up and get on the upswing sometime down the road.
