This club, which shares with Dreamgirls in Minneapolis the distinction of having a streetcar let you off at the front door, has gone through a few transitions in the last decade. Originally Red Garter, with a Roaring Twenties atmosphere, it had a few renovations and a new sign with La Boheme. (Originally the accent was in the wrong direction.) It operated a few years as one of the few independent clubs in Denver. Now it is part of VCG Enterprises, the Lowrie "Evil Empire" and has the same corporate ownership as Diamond Cabaret down the street, the various PTs, Penthouse Club etc. This place is more low key than the Diamond, and the girls may not be as elegant but they are certainly friendly. No real privacy for intimate dancing, and not too many regulars, as the downtown location caters to the tourist trade. There is little hustle here; the dancers are lovely and the corporate standards are met, although there are a few of us who are still nostalgic for the Good Old Days.
