Club Castaway is a nice little club in Whately; a little off the beaten path, but not too far removed from the highway. Easy to get to and typically worth the drive.

"You mileage may vary" is a phrase often associated with clubs and dancers and nowhere does that addage fit more than here. Being an afternoon patron, I've found things to be highly variable. One afternoon there will be 8 girls there for about 3 guys, the next day there will be 2 girls there for 20. Generally speaking though, the afternoon averages about a 2:1 patron to dancer ratio, though most guys sit at the bar rather than the stage. If you're there in the afternoon, sitting at the stage is a sure way to get the girl you want.

As for the girls, Club Castaway usually has a pretty nice selection. People often think because it's so close to UMass all the girls are students, but there is the standard mix of young and older dancers. Most are friendly and will chat with you a bit. I haven't had any encounters with overly pushy dancers. Regulars do seem to get a little more attention from the girls.
