I'd call the Landing Strip a surprisingly good club for an "at the edge of town, near the airport" kind of place. My experience with clubs like this has never been very good - usually they are seamy, funky, nasty. This one, from a location standpoint, didn't promise much better.
But, upon arrival and entry, things were definitely better. First of all, I was fresh off a three-hour flight from Chicago, so I was looking to relax with a beer or two and just enjoy the scenery for a bit - and I could do that easily. The beers were reasonably priced (under $5) for ice cold Shiner Bock (the local Texas brew), and the girls kind of sensed I was there to chill for a bit.
After a bit, I started to interact with the dancers onstage and here was the best surprise of the visit - lots of FRICTION! Damn, but these girls a touchy-feely and I mean that in the best of ways. I went up to the stage expecting the usual one-dollar-wiggle that you get at the stage rail. Instead, I sat down about 2 minutes later with my hair messed up, nipple prints on my glasses and a serious umm ... a serious ... level of enjoyment from the whole experience. FOR A BUCK!
