Sorry for doing back-to-back reviews of Dream Girls. It was something I vowed I’d never do for TUSCL, but I have been pulled back to DG’s shortly after I last visited it.

Don’t know why, though. There are two unfortunate changes that have cut down on the chances of being able to do stuff. First of all, they have turned up the lights in the couches. That allows the two guys working the day shift, the bouncer/bartender and the DJ, to spy what’s going on without leaving their stations. But it doesn’t matter anyway, because during the 2-for-1 dances given after every single dancer’s three-song stage set, one of those two conducts a perfunctory march past the couches and the beds. Imagine having your thing out when one of the guys comes walking past.

That’s why, even though I still feel a need to see if my worst dreams are coming true, I cannot see how one can get extras here. This despite the fact that the quartet that was working when I was there last month (Stella, Zyra, Tea [sp.?] and travelling company girl Cheyenne [sp.?]) was as strong as it has ever been. How I want to show them how they make me feel. But I don’t think I can.
