Marilyn Bar deserves a review because it was a very nice experience, especially compared to stories heard about Budapest clubs. In fact, I was rather intimidated by some of the other reviews here, and had pictures of huge bouncers fleecing me the moment I got out of an overpriced cab. Marilyn Bar was quite the contrary and all good.

It was easy to find at the beginning of a pedestrian-only street, reasonably close to major hotels, so a cab is not even necessary. The large fellows in the lobby surprised me by ushering me into the bar, without any door or cover charge. The place was not packed, but it was busy, and there were plenty of dancers. Appearances of the dancers were first rate, which isn't hard in Hungary, for it is blessed with plenty of beautiful women.

I started at the bar with a decently priced drink, less than 1,000 HUF, and was soon approached by a beautiful blond. She was my one and only companion for the evening. Drinks for her were pricey at 9,000 HUF but not outrageous. The private lap dances were 10,000 HUF and worth every, um, Florint of it.
