After an extremely disappointing trip to Some Beach, given the far trip you have to make (out of one parking lot into the next) and from a club perspective, i barely spent any money I decided to give Sugar's a try. $10 cover to enter and no drink cards. Word to the next time - there is a small free local magazine at the door - pick one up - there is a coupon in there for free admission - wish I found it first. The whole place is pretty well lighted for a club. Large dance stage in the middle, the stage is a bit strange, not many places to sit at the edge - but some walk up areas. The stage side of the bar has no seats at it. The back side of the bar does have seating. I was pleased to hear asking the bartender for a mixed drink that he suggested to save me money and get the normal shelf for $3.25.

I think the hostess staff shares duty with Some Beach. Or at least most of them shared the same tattoo parlor. What is it with all the body art, especially all over the chest. The dancers here a very good improvement over Beach. They kept a good amount moving on the stage - 2 songs each, then the main stage goes to the smaller stage and does 2 more there for rotation. There must have been plenty of regulars in there as most all the girls were right back seating with a guy after dancing. There was however one that topside caught my large attention. I tried to catch her's but she was too busy spending most of the night with her fellow dancers. I'm not a strong approach. She eventually danced and I gave her quite a few tips on both stages, then she disappeared again. My 2nd and 3rd runners up seemed to be busy with dancers.

Then while I was feeling like it was almost time to go, eventually she came up to me. We chatted for a bit and wound up getting 2 recommended dances. The stage area gives a very good 2 way contact, but the dance was worth the wait, and not bad at $20 per song - the 2nd song seemed like a long one too. So while not a TOTAL satisfaction, the night was not a total waste at all. I'm inclined to go back and try a 2nd time, and with NOW having the free admission I might.
