So my travels this week take me to Toronto. Oh Canada.....

From reviews, I chose to spend time and money at the Brass Rail. As I entered, I was greeted by a professional looking bouncer. I noticed that the staff had uniforms of sorts, waitstaff and bouncers wear black and white, managers wear suits. I was told there is a house mama but I didn't see her. The physical layout has a two poll stage with steps that dancers use to enter and exit the stage. I was told there is another stage, but I didn't see it. There is a bar when you enter, then seating with chairs at the stage and tables lined up in rows. The chairs are lined up sort of like a comedy club so you're pretty intimate with your neighbors.

The hustle starts right away. Tipping is really limited at the stage, so the dancers work the tables with aggressive intent. The waitresses, on the other hand, seemed very customer-oriented. Drinks are very expensive compared to other clubs, with a beer at $10, and shots at $12.50. That would be OK if the shots were stiff, but after 4 Gray Goose, I should have felt drunk, but not so. I kind of think they are watered. The dances are $20 per, but the Champagne Room is very expensive, renting for 1 or 3 hours if I understood the pricing right. The only upstairs action I saw was a group who obviously were splitting the cost of the room. The room is one fee, the dancers another in the Champagne Room.
