In San Diego on business, I had to try TJ. Getting there was so easy. I parked at the Duty Free parking lot ($10 if over 2 hours, or you buy $30 worth of stuff). Once you walk around the building, just walk through the turnstile, past the guard at the other end and you are in Mexico. No one asked for ID or said anything to me until a guy asked if I needed a cab.

The ride was 5 minutes and was $5 plus tip. I was a little nervous because it looked like the cab driver was driving through back streets of a warehouse district. All of a sudden he pulled into a lit up street with lots of clubs. There were clubs on both sides of the street, and all next door to each other. It looked pretty run down at first glance.

There was no cover, but the door man sold me a Tecate for $4 at the door. My first impression was that the club was very narrow. There were girls dancing on a bunch of stages, in booths, and on the bar. Never less than 5 dancing, usually more. They do not strip while dancing unless it is one of the "shows". Some girls will flip down their tops, but mostly the dancing is just to entice you to invite them over. The most interesting thing was the number of "waiters" in the club. There were more of them than girls. They run around with snacks, get drinks, pick out girls if you ask them, etc.
