I have been going to Ricks...

I have been going to Ricks and its predecessor for many years but last Friday's experience was just plain sad. My buddy and I decided to get a late lunch at Ricks to cap off a good week. The place was nearly empty. We were there for approximately an hour (much less than we had planned) and we saw three dancers total. This place has been a mainstay for Fort Worth for almost 2 decades and I am sad to say that it is only a shadow of what it used to be.

The three ladies we saw were not unattractive but there were only three, hence the lower rating. The wait staff was not attentive, particularly for a place that was not even 1/3rd full. Slow service, bordering upon rude, and a dead atmosphere in the club is a recipe for failure.

Perhaps they are just one more victim of this poor economy. Not enough disposable income available to get a beer or two each week. I do not want Ricks to fade. I am hopeful this was just an unusual day and not their actual reality, but I must admit you can kind of get a sense of a place by the overall feeling and this one was not very good. I am not saying that I will not return, but I will probably need a reason like meeting someone for lunch or drinks after work. It will definitely not be a destination place in the near future.
