I stopped by Venom today ....

I stopped by Venom today . . . which is hilarious because it was the Candy Store . . . then Spellbound . . . now Venom. I wanted to see what they had done with this renovation and change of management/ownership. It looks like someone finally spent some money on the interior of the place. The dance prices are still low, thus the higher monetary value rating, but I would say that the quality of dances has gone down . . . certainly from the days of the Candy Store. The bouncers seem to be very vigilant, but given the history of the location, that is not surprising. It is probably not a bad place to watch the games and to have free chicken wings and nachos. They have installed a couple more flat screen TV's.

It might be worth checking out, especially if you haven't seen the renovations. The VIP section seems to be virtually gone. They removed the top half of the wall that was around it. It is really not much different now than the raised section to the right of the stage. Maybe over time this place will get better . . . but I think the other places in Tucson will be better in the short term.
