I arrived around 10 pm on...

I arrived around 10 pm on a Sunday night. I paid the $5 cover and walked into the very large, high ceilinged main room. There was one large two level stage. Part of it was a U-shaped with about 15 comfortable chairs around it, with the stage a little below chin level. A rectangular stage was a step up from the U-shaped stage. The rectangular stage was adjacent to the bar serving area with no seats around it. Both stages had stripper poles that were over 20 feet up from the floor of the stage.

There were 15 – 20 dancers on duty, dancing three song sets. They moved from stage to stage as they wished. Some performances were quite acrobatic, with the dancers taking full advantage of the 20-foot poles. With a couple of exceptions, there was little physical contact between the dancers and the patrons sitting at the stage during the performances.

Except for the waitress who took my drink order, I was not approached by anyone for over an hour when a dancer can over. The dancer was not my type, so after a pleasant conversation, I sent her on her way. No other dancer came by for another hour. The dancers spent their time with regulars, and made no attempt to approach anyone they did not know. If I had wanted just to sit around watching topless women, I would have considered Savannah’s a great place, but wanting some interaction with the dancer of my choice, it was a disappointment.
