Went to LS on a Wednesday...

Went to LS on a Wednesday afternoon before my flight back home from DTW. This was my third visit there, and I usually try to include a visit to LS each time I visit Detroit area - about once a year. I usually visit Déjà vu (Ypsi), Flight Club, Bogarts, and BT (Dearborn). Flight Club was the top destination about 3 years ago, but in my opinion, the number and quality of the dancers there has declined, and no longer represents the best “bang for the buck.”

LS is my favorite among these. Five minutes from the airport, no cover during the day, and easy on-street parking in a safe, small-town neighborhood environment make for a welcome change each time I visit LS. (There is even a free afternoon buffet two days a week, but I didn’t have any of the food when I was there).

Dancers are friendly, attractive, welcoming girl-next-door types, mostly all natural, mostly white, but there is some ethnic diversity here also. Usually a three-song set on stage, then the dancers circulate among the guests and ask if you want some company and conversation, rather than automatically asking, “… you want a dance?” I found these conversations to be very enjoyable, whether or not I decided to have a private dance. Sometimes I suggested the private dance, and sometimes the conversation just led into the subject of a private dance.

No pressure to “buy the lady a drink.” Sometimes I did buy the lady a drink, and sometimes I didn’t. However the conversation at your table or booth goes, the lady is usually comfortable with a reasonable amount of touching, which made me comfortable as well. I was approached by three or four ladies in 15 minutes during a weekday afternoon – no pressure for private dances or extras, but you are always aware that the opportunity is there if you want.

Private dances are usually two-way touching, decent mileage, $25 per song, in a curtained room downstairs. No need to give a tip to the downstairs attendant (I like this so much better than BT’s policy of a $20 tip to the bouncer each time you go for a private dance). Dancers usually wait for a song to begin so you don’t run into a situation of paying for part of a song. Not all the dancers offer extras, so it’s good to discuss what you’re looking for before going downstairs. On this afternoon, only one out of five was willing to go for extras, but you probably won’t be disappointed with the regular dances if that is what you’re looking for. The ladies know how to grind, and give a good dance, even at $25 per song.
