Bottoms Up is one of the notorious bars located in Irvington. The inside consists of a square bar around which the patrons sit with the dancers mostly standing on the dance floor in the middle of the square or walking around looking for dollar tips from the patrons. There is a pool table which seems to be in use almost every time I have been there. For the most part the place is a hole in the wall complete with run down bathroom, a private dance area that is a storeroom with an inner city ambiance.

The dancers are pretty wide ranging in terms of looks, age, and friendliness. Most of them speak little English so it can be difficult to communicate at times. I have found the actual experience here very hit and miss. It is as if most of the girls just don't care. There is a semi-steady stream of dollar tip requests from the girls actually dancing (you know the routine - wiggle around on stage for a couple of minutes and then walk along the bar looking for tips). The problem I have found is that the friendly dancers are not good looking (either old or fugly) and the good looking dancers are not friendly. I think most of the hot ones have regulars which doesn't help someone like me who shows up occasionally so they don't know me.

The lap dance room consists of a chair in the middle of the storeroom. I have been in there twice. Once when the bar was not super busy and I pretty much had as long as I wanted back there and once when it was busy and paid for two dances that consisted of essentially one song each. This is a high touch dance (really high) and is pretty cost effective for what you get, but all in all this isn't my first choice for this type of entertainment.
