The short review: This place could be the best club on the west coast if they had a better selection of dancers and it wasn't subject to San Diego laws.

Pure Platinum in Kearney Mesa was remodeled a few years ago, and now looks great inside. Part of the remodel was to redo the stage to allow for two dancers to work simultaneously - for each song, one girl on the back stage dances in her club clothes, while one girl on the front part gets topless (alcohol is served at this club, so topless is as far as it goes). Another part of the remodel was to redo the back room, where the cheapie lap dances used to happen, and make it more of a "club" setting - it now occasionally hosts bands and has a few gigantic tv screens and smoking is allowed inside the room (they've been pushing some hookah nonsense in there lately, but not too much pressure).

As at the other PP, dances come in 3 flavors - $20/song dances that are almost assuredly air dances (although I've gotten lucky once and actually been touched), $120/5 song dances that give you more of a standard "San Diego" lapper (mostly one-way decent grinding, not too dirty), and the champagne room, which can run up to $400 for the girl and at least $200 for the bottle you'll be required to buy.
