I stopped into the newly renovated Show Palace. They certainly spent a lot of $$ and it shows! The stage is nice. It is a long stage with under floor lighting and a pole at one end. A generous tip rail circles the stage so you can come up and visit with your favorite girl. The VIP area is interesting. They have these HUGE semi-circular couches that curve around a full 180 degrees and are almost 6' tall. When you are in the couch it is pretty private. The cost of a VIP is $150/half hour and with that you get three drinks. Three doesn't make much sense since there are two of you back there. Two drinks make sense, four makes more sense, but three? Someone's getting left out on the second round.
The only real downside to this new club layout are the $20 "couch dance" areas and just the overall volume of the music in the club. The music selection is pretty good but when it is blasted at 110db it is impossible to even carry on a simple conversation. You end up just leaning over and screaming into each other's ear. Not conducive to small talk before a dance. The CD areas are just plain strange. They are little cubicles right out in the open and visible to the main room. Now, that is usually not a problem if they are nice and dark and you and your favorite girl can slip into the shadows and have a nice time. The problem here is that the club installed the same underfloor lighting they have on the stage in every CD area. Thus, you and your favorite dancer are illuminated for all to see. Certainly not conducive to the fantasy. Pick your favorite dancer and just head right for the VIP and skip the CD area. The VIP is just not that expensive in comparison.
I spent some time with the "new girl" Avery. She just started about a week ago. She is a blast. Fun to hang out with and a very sexy dancer. I would certainly recommend visiting with her if you get to the club.
