Made two visits on a Saturday...
Made two visits on a Saturday to my favorite Montreal hangout, Cleos. The Cafe Cleopatra is located along the former red light of Boulevard St. Laurent, and is a the lone holdout against the pending gentrification of the boulevard. Long gone from the Cleo's side of the street are Montreal institutions such as the Montreal Pool Room and other dives
The club harkens back to the days of the 60's and 70's . . . . this ain't one of your classy gentleman's club. It is a strip bar! The decor is dated, the stage is small and the women can be large.
The dancers on the afternoon shift were a diverse group featuring an East European hottie and a couple of dancers of pensionable age. On every shift there are a couple of diamonds among the rough looking dancers.
The evening is trans-formative, many more dancers (20-30) and high quality than the afternoon. The place get extraordinarily busy. Towards the midnight hour there is a line-up of paired dancers with their clients waiting for an open dance booth.
The dances are $10 and the song durations are generous. YMMV but Cleos dances are much better than those offered elsewhere in the downtown Montreal area. All dances are topless contact dances where your hands are allowed to roam freely. Air dances are rare, most feature good grind and favorable attention to detail.
