Drove from KCMO to check out...

Drove from KCMO to check out some Lawrence clubs, see some nude dancing again. The “Dirty Bird” wasn’t my first choice. Went first to Paradise Saloon. Arrived at the Bird near 11 PM on a Saturday night. Five dollar cover; $10 entry fee for separate VIP room good all night. Twenty dollar two-way topless touch in VIP; one-way $10 dances in the main club area.

Club can be hard to find; it’s on North 9th St. Best to remember that unlike Lawrence south of the Kansas River numbered streets in North Lawrence run north-south. On the north side of the Kansas River the street is N 2nd. Allstars is just a few blocks north and farther along just past the turnpike entrance is the turn-off for the road to Paradise :-)

The first turn on the north side of the bridge is Locust, a right turn coming from downtown Lawrence. Take Locust east to 9th; can’t miss because Locust ends at this T intersection. And there’s a large, fading sign advertising the club. Turn right and go about 2½ blocks. Look for the plain gray roadhouse building siting in a large gravel lot.
