There is a reason why Hollywood Show Club is so highly rated on this site. I visited the club for the first time on two consecutive afternoons, and I was amazed at the quality of this place.

The club, as many others have noted, is in Washington Park, which is adjacent to East St. Louis and is not in a great neighborhood. However, it is also nowhere near as ghetto as most people have written on this site and others. I took the Metrolink train from downtown St. Louis ($7.50 for a day pass) to Washington Park station and walked the mile or so to the club and then back twice. Never did I feel in danger or out of place at all in my 4-5 miles of Washington Park exploration on foot. I also walked back and forth on Bunkum Rd. in between Hollywood and Hustler Club a couple times. In my opinion, the online fervor over how "ghetto" the area is is very much exaggerated. I also went during the afternoon, so I imagine the area would be slightly different at night.

Everything about Hollywood is over the top. The place is covered in neon both on the outside and inside. The furniture is gaudy, and the decor is overstimulating to the senses. However, it is also very posh and comfortable. Several reviewers have commented on and complained about the hardcore porn playing on the TVs. I actually really enjoy this. The porn is top-quality, modern porn (with some anal) and there seemed to be 3 or 4 movies playing all over the club at any one time. I think this is a fantastic addition to the club's "decor." The movies did seem to be looped, because I saw some of the same ones the next day as well. Perhaps a bit more variety would be good for repeat customers.
