Visited Apple Bees, because of the restaurant name. It is located in downtown Nairobi, in a more sketchy area of town. The local taxi drivers know the name but not the actual location. Few times different drivers had to stop to ask other cabbies for directions. The entrance is two double doors on the corner block, few steps from the street, you walk through doors, up long flight of stairs to top landing. Immediately, notice the place is grungy, worn down, broken chairs, more of low scale PG county type joint. It is very similar to any of the rough and ready ghetto style SC except Kenyans are very polite, well mannered and considerate to foreigners. The entrance fee is $300 Kenya schillings about $4 USD. For us foreigner guys two unsettling things the entrance double doors are padlocked by security after you enter, and after paying entrance fee, another set of padlocked doors are opened by security, and immediately locked upon entering the club. Essentially you are double locked in until a uniform security guard (not waitress or other staff) unlocks both padlock gates for you to exit. You aren't free to leave at your leisure like normal clubs. Found myself and couple other mzungu guys standing around for 20 min waiting for the idiot security to find the padlock key he misplaced somewhere. Don't know if they have been raided or robbed, either way they are awfully concerned about security enough to keep you in rather keep you out. Entered the place,they offered all night VIP lounge access for $1000 Kenya schillings($11 USD) I declined. All chairs and table are ratty, and old, the stage is in center of the room with chairs and table arrayed around the stage. Though quite generous to call it stage, more like a wooden box platform. The dancers there are much more working class; hard edge, rougher, high mileage, with large variance in age from 21 upto 40. you can find much better looking women at Madhouse or another SC. There were certainly 1 or 2 dancers, very fine, tight athletic bodies. The rest were (blah). I sat down ordered drink, prices here was less expensive for cognac, brandy, vodka, beer definitely a working man SC. I saw one interesting cutie, got nice lap dance, again went through the standard how much you wanna pay routine. I always pay $300 shillings $4 USD regardless of what they ask, they always accept. After 15 minutes she completed her dance, I purchased her a drink (same price) as regular drinks,

she called her girlfriend over to join in the next LD train I had going. After a quick glance at her friend, I paid her $100 shilling ($1.50 USD) to go away, to not bother me for any dances. It seemed cheaper to pay them to go away as dancers are quite persistent there for drinks, LD and extras. I had no interest in VIP lounge, didn't want any extras, only normal LD. I want to give Apple Bees fair shot to provide a full review. Seems to me place geared toward the locals. After one or two LD I got up to leave, discovered had to wait for idiot guy with key to open padlocked gate to let me out, and then another guy with another key to let me out of the building. Definitely not my type of place compared to Liddos (ledo pizza) and Pangos/F3 or Madhouse which are more upscale place well suited to foreigners.
