For a first-time visitor, the Sundowner...

For a first-time visitor, the Sundowner might come off as an above-average strip club. However, if you go to this place a few times per year and especially if you used to go in the early 2000's, then you know how much it has fallen off from its previous glory.

The club has maybe five hotties (being generous) that are 8+ but these are the same girls that have been dancing here for a few years and they have a solid following. The rest are just okay, ranging from 5-7's (standard scale of 1-10) which really do comprise the vast majority in terms of dancer quality. There has not been an influx of new elite talent at this club for about four years. The cover has went up greatly in that time ($15 on weekend nights last time I was there), and the hustle factor is also quite concerning. As other posters have remarked, a current scam that is very popular here right now is the start-in-the-middle-of-a-song routine. That happened (or was attempted) on almost half my dances last time. A shot girl now also frequents the private dance area aggressively selling ridiculously priced shots ($9 each I believe) which she makes sure to solicit right when you sit down with a dancer. All dancers go along with this teaming up with the shot girl to get you to buy both of them a shot and the pressure tactics on this are just plain annoying.

None of this is perhaps particularly surprising given the economic problems in the area, but the Sundowner is a shell of its former self. To be fair, there was always was some hustle, but there used to be so many hot dancers it made the trip somewhat worth it. Bottom line - if you've never been or rarely go, you'll probably be impressed enough with the few hot dancers you're seeing for the first time to enjoy this place in a bachelor party setting etc. Otherwise, the lack of new talent and overall hustle makes this club average at best.
