This club was gargantuan and warehouse-like, similar to Tootsie’s. Admission was $10. There are five stages, four poles which surround one in the center in a ring structure and all at least 30 feet high. When I arrived at 10:00 pm on a Saturday night, the place was filled with bikers as there was some charity event for motorcycle riders taking place. Only one dancer was working on one stage. I was told that at this time it was still “very early” and that the place did not get going until midnight. Well, it was certainly true that the place was not happening at that time, to the point where the club staff was still hanging up yellow and black balloons for the evening’s festivities (I was told it was a dancer’s birthday that night). While I was told over 100 dancers would be working, I only saw about 15 and they were all black. They were not in good physical shape but had attractive faces. They were certainly not near eights or nines, however. The decors of the club was trashy, dilapidated, deteriorating, and outdated, again similar to Tootsie’s bus terminal furniture. The crowd was almost all black, with a few latinos and whites from the biker crowd. Interestingly, almost no one was around the stages when I was there. Rather, they all crowded around the long bars watching NASCAR on the flat tv screens. This struck me as odd and out of character for a strip club. There is no question the women are well-versed in pole tricks, given the acrobatic moves I saw on the tall apparatus. Also, the dancers were typically aggressive, urging me to get dances from them in private rooms located somewhere in this huge facility. However, because of the general grunginess of the club and the type of biker clientele it attracts, I will not be taking them up on their offers any time soon. Additionally, the place is very difficult to find, off of 95 on an unmarked service road which winds around a shrouded grove. I never saw the club heat up as I left after an hour, if it ever did.
