I often stop here on my drives between Phoenix and L.A. There are other places I might like more if I would try them (I've never made the detour to the COI), but I keep returning to SRR because it's what I know. I'm not regular enough that people recognize me, but in conversation I can make it clear that I've been going for years and know what the scoop is, and I think that opens some doors for me, mileage-wise.

And really, it's a nice atmosphere with generally attractive dancers and those awesome bedrooms with curtains across the doors.

On this visit, I found a seat, a waitress swooped in to get my drink order, and a dancer swooped in to make small talk. Not my type, so I deflected her. ("If you don't mind, I'd just like to sit here alone and watch the stage for a while.") Two are three more dancers came by to sit and chat (always with the waitress on their tails, trying to get me to buy the lady a drink), and again I politely deflected them.
