I decided I wanted to do...

I decided I wanted to do a bit of driving tonight and went to the High Heels Saloon to check it out. With the information from the map link here in TUSCL, I was able to find it pretty easily. As the reviews suggest, it is a bit out by itself, but not too far outside of the town limits of Somonauk. When I got there, they were using only the "small" room, which is the area right inside the entry that has a single (very) small stage, a handful of tables and a small bar. There were three dancers working, but at least three more arrived and started getting ready to work while I was in the club. I didn't stick around long enough to find out much about them, as I'll explain in a bit.

The good news: the club's pretty nice inside, fairly clean and modern, and the "Main" room has a large, raised stage with two poles and seating around it. The dancers are also young (none above mid-to-late 20's) and very attractive. At least while I was there, they also stripped nude on stage.

The bad news: not all the dancers strip nude, and there's no hint as to which ones will and won't (one who was dancing when I arrived didn't her first set, but during a second set, she did). They also seem less than interested in making themselves available to all the customers. I'm no more a fan of the "Hey baby, you just get here? Want to get a dance?" approach to dancer/customer interaction than the next guy, but what I ran into in this club was almost the exact opposite. When I got there, there were something like ten/eleven guys in the club, but half of them were at the bar drinking and not paying attention to the dancers at all. Of those of us who were, it didn't seem to make a difference if you tipped or not, when their set ended, the dancer would go back to whomever they had been talking to before they went on stage. Worse, the "private" area where lap dancers are done isn't very private at all (at least not the one in the "small" room), the dancers only get topless and it's pretty much "hands off" for the customers. I ended up talking to one of the dancers that was coming on shift when they moved the show over to the "main" room to see what I could find out. She seemed like she'd be happy to talk to me all I wanted to.......as long as I bought her a drink first.

Maybe if the "private" area were a bit more so, and the women got out of their clothing there too, I might enjoy the place more. Or maybe I didn't hit the club on a good night, or at a good time, but I'm not sure I'd go back.
