While in Portland on vacation we opted to try out a few of the local strip clubs. With so many options available, where to start? We decided on the "historic" Mary's and found that moniker should be "seedy". The club itself is not just in an old building - it is run down and in desperate need of a good cleaning if not a fresh coat of paint. The basic floor plan is fine except that the stage seems like an afterthought - small and cramped for the dancers. No DJ - just a juke box which the girls must feed. Our biggest complaint was that the girls spent much of the time sqatted in the corner of the stage deciding on their music which provided extremely awkward, silent periods in the show. There were only three dancers only one of which seemed interested in entertaining us. Laura at least had a fun trick where she was able to bounce her boobs independently. Two dancers were older than average and the third was so bored and boring that we left rather than watch her a second time. We resented her castigating the audience for dollars to feed the juke box. Earn them, baby! The drinks were generous and well done and the bathrooms were clean. The crowd was not particularly into what was happening on stage but maybe it was warranted. We chose to move on to Cabaret Lounge and were rewarded with a great show.
