I went to Mardi Gras late...
I went to Mardi Gras late on a recent Saturday night. For those who have not been there, this is a great strip club. The cover charge was $7.00. Looks like the entrance area has been reconfigured since my last visit, they now collect the cover in a kind of interior vestibule area, and there is a metal detector that you pass through although I don’t think that it was in use. Right inside is where the uniformed police officers hang out. Not too many sketchy characters in the club though, perhaps thanks to the police. The police were not obtrusive at all. I recommend getting your drinks at the L shaped bar on the right in the front of the club. Beers were the standard $5.00-ish + tip. The main stage area is straight back from the entrance and the LD area is to the right. I noticed that the other stage/bar area that was off to the left at the back of the club, a few steps down, and which I think was called “Bourbon Streetâ€, had been remodeled/ reconfigured. There were a couple of pool tables there, and at least one was in use. That bar/ stage was greatly reduced in size and was closed that night. There were a decent number of hot girls dancing on the main stage, and circulating. There were also a few hot female patrons. I was able to get a seat at the main stage despite the crowds. For those who have not been there the main stage is a bit oddly configured, it is hard to describe, but basically patrons sit around the perimeter (it is a rectangle) and there are basically walkways through the stage which allow the bartender to serve drinks to the patrons sitting along the perimeter. This means that it is hard for the dancers to get to some of the seats but those dancers who are nimble (and not too impaired) have no trouble getting to you. I witnessed some interesting acrobatics from one dancer, a petite hot spinner. These involved getting into a patron’s lap. There has been some discussion regarding the proper tip amount at the stage and whether $2.00 was mandated by management. I saw no signs mandating a $2.00 tip and my observations were that people were tipping what they pleased, anywhere from $1.00 to $3.00. The dances at the stage were very nice, and I was asked by some of the girls on stage and those who were circulating whether I wanted a private dance and I politely declined. There was one girl who was offering massages, which would have been nice.
There is a second level at this club, and some day I should venture up there, but would like to figure out the gist of what that is all about before I do so. I will have to do some reading!
The only negative is the bathroom attendant, which I find to be very annoying. I had a bit to drink that night so trips to the bathroom were frequent. Also, the details of this review would have been sharper had it not been for the drinking.
